Church of Christ (the "Sponsor") has adopted a set of information management guidelines to demonstrate our organization’s commitment to privacy. These guidelines disclose the information gathering and dissemination policies for the
www.michucc.org Web site (the “Site”). These guidelines have been developed with the recognition that Internet technologies are rapidly evolving and that underlying business models are still not established. Accordingly, these guidelines are subject to change. Any such changes will be posted on this page.
The Sponsor is not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of Web sites to which it may link.
What information does the Sponsor gather and/or track about you?
Registration: The Sponsor does not currently require registration for access to the Site.
Cookies: A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our Site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie on our Site, the user would not have to complete a survey or poll more than once, thereby saving time while on our Site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our Site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Site.
IP Addresses: The Sponsor logs IP addresses of visitors for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. (Your IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet.) We do not log IP addresses to track your session, nor do we link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable.
E-mail Address: When a visitor submits an inquiry or comment through a form available on the Site, the Sponsor logs and retains the visitor’s e-mail address.
What does the Sponsor do with the information it gathers and/or tracks?
Statistical Analysis: The Sponsor may perform statistical analyses of user behavior in order to measure interest in the various areas of the Site (for development purposes). Personal information about you as an individual visitor will not be provided to any third party, except when we have your permission.
E-mail: Using the e-mail addresses provided when a visitor submits an inquiry or comment, the Sponsor may contact you regarding your inquiry or comment.
A special note about children viewing the site
The Site is not intended for children, and we ask that minors not submit any personal information to us. If you are a minor, you may use the Site only in conjunction with a parent or guardian.
The Sponsor
The term "Sponsor" refers individually and collectively to the
Michigan Conference United Church of Christ and its members and agents. "You" refers to each individual user of this Site and, if applicable to your use, your employer or firm.
